Subverting armies can be a lifesaver in Shogun 2. Sabotage reinforcing armies so that they cannot aid their main force once you strike. You can also buy yourself time if an army is approaching your city and you want to build yourself more units. Well said! I admit to not seeing the vast advantage of sabotaging armies when I was first exploring ninjas in shogun 2. I assumed assassinating and building sabotage were the most valuable actions of a ninja. I now know, at the hands of Orrie in multiplayer, that army sabotage can have dramatic effect when used intelligently.
